In a dark room, a 36" circular mirror catches the reflection of a video projection of "New Bright." The projection's reflection is visible to the viewer from a marked viewing point or while facing away from the main projection wall.

New Bright is a video that runs three minutes long and has no sound. In the video, a viewfinder scans a space trying to locate itself in a room. Except for brief moments when the field of vision is inversely flooded with bright light, a disoriented camera is in total darkness. Two bright lights oscillate up against a plastered surface. Pathways made of reflective lines demarcate the confines of a room. As the camera apparatus fumbles, spins, and jetties, light floods begin to waiver, curve, and flutter. Pixelations and data loss, demonstrate a fight for information, and any sense of place is turned in and out on itself. This piece was filmed with a consumer-grade DASH cam housed in a remote-operated toy truck.
